This is a collection the Washington Library Association's record. It includes the Secretary's Record [of the] Washington Library Association for 1905-1908; correspondence; programs and announcements from the early years. There a few copies of the Puget Sound Specialist, a bimonthly publication of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Special Library Association as well as a few copies of the WLA Bulletin. The Southwest Washington District Library Association's minutes of annual meetings for 1949-1963 are included in this collection. At the Nov. 1963 meeting it was moved, seconded and carried that the organization be dissolved. It includes: records pertaining to the President of the Washington Library Association; Mrs. Neva Bequette's (Pres. of WLA 1956) notebook; membership lists; correspondence; Articles of Incorporation, 1956; Committee's; Membership reports; Regional meetings; Trustees information; some issues of newsletters. It includes many of the drafts for legislation during the 1930's. It includes the drafts for the certification of librarians in the State of Washington. It also includes a few photographs of librarians in WLA. Most of the individuals in the photographs were identified. One is from the early 1900's and those librarians are not identified.
